Ah yes, the ever so lovely Sysadmin Day where it is rarely acknowledged in some companies. I really hope the admins that had to deal with the Crowdstrike outage got their well-deserved kudos. For me, I just plan on doing some work. I know it’s read-only Fridays, but I have to finish configuring this host for Hyper-V. Plus it’s something to keep me entertained 🙂
I recently had the power go out of my apartment for a few days. Which means everything that was selfhosted went down & no working from home. I don’t mind the drive to the office, but the no electricity was kind of a bummer. The strange thing is that it was only one side of my unit, but that side also had electricity going to my fiber optic terminal box outside.. so no internet. I’m so thankful that mobile hotspots exist. As much as I wanted to try to troubleshoot it myself, I rather not end up like Marv..

Hope all you IT professionals are enjoying this day and just know that your work matters. Whether you’re help desk, engineer, analyst, manager, etc. You should take pride in your work and what you do for each company. 🙏
Cheers!
